Blog Entries: 2 |  Gearing up for WAR! Situation: My Black Templar Army is to go forth into battle for the VERY FIRST TIME! The battle is to Commence next Saturday between my "friend" and his much more experienced Imperial Guard army. The Showdown is set to be a 750 point slugging match lasting 6 turns. My problem is that I don't really know what units I should field or how to really use them. So I’m turning to you my new found battle-brothers for advice. My Army as it stands now looks like this: 1 Chaplin 1, Chaplin Terminator Armour 1 EC 1 Space Marine Command Squad 5 Terminators 5 Close Combat terminators 5 Assault Marines with jump packs 1 Land raider 1 Rhino 1 Dreadnought 1 Land speeder 1 Predator (turret is incomplete) & 46 initiates (20 bolters 20 Bolt Pistol/CC) I have about 15 extra initiates to mess around with heavy weapons with I'm not sure what to Expect from his side of the table. I'm guessing it's gonna be tank heavy but I have no Intel to validate that. My plan as it stands is to blindly charge forward and see what happens. Any help would rock! Blog Entries: 1   | Right well 1st piece of advice for a 750pt battle; ignore those terminators, the terminator chaplain, and the land raider- they're too expensive for any battle that's not at least 1,500pts as far as I'm concerned. Obviously your going to have to use the EC, i'd suggest the vow Uphold the Honour of the Emperor as most of the IG's weapons cant pierce your armour automatically and those ones that can are on the whole able to void the use of cover anyway (Battle cannons, Basilisks etc), its also the cheapest and your going to need as many models as you can put on the table so you don't want to spend too much on the EC. Use the chaplain but only give him a bolt pistol, he has enough wargear built in that he doesn't need anything else. right that should leave you with roughly 550pts...i'll let someone else chime in with some suggestions now

| The Predator would prove to be useful, or if you can't afford it, use the Land Speeder, ether way they"ll provide you with some heavy firepower.

adding to baronspiky's advice, i'd take the speeder and trust it to do the anti tank work, if it has a melta so much the better. i'd also take the jump marines if you can as guard hate cc. pump the remaining points into crusader squads and you're ready to rock!
