Default Grey Knights?!?

So i'm Flipping through the Holy Black Templar Codex and i come across a passaged they says i can us Grey Knights in my army. Hot damn!

my question how do they fit into my army? Are they considered elites? are they to expensive? Will they be mad when they find my picture of the Emperor with horns and a tail drawn on?

you can use WH and DH allies for SM. You must first fill out the FOC for your parent army, then for allies you can have 0-1 HQ, 0-1 Elites, 0-2 Troops, and 0-1 Fast Atack. Note that Heavy support can not be taken. If your using GK terminators they will either be elites or hq depending on your unit choice. for regular GK they will be either troops or fast attack. the only difference between the troop GK and the fast attack GK is that the fast attack GK can deep strike

what your BT codex meant concerning Grey Knights was that they're also the only psykers the BT are allowed to ally with.

not quite true; you can still take an allied inquisitor or inquisitor lord if you like, but you cannot buy them any psychic powers! (they will still however count as psykers for the sake of things like the dark eldar crucible of malediction or a culexus assassin's special abilities!)

cheers!

eldar don't like psycannons very much... sure grey knights are viable, you simply have to pick your targets very carefully with them! (ie: they're still just space marines but they cost an arm and a leg so don't send them off alone thinking they can handel themselves!)

cheers!

They may not handle themselves
but even with a little support they can do quite a bit of damage. (How much damage exactly depends on how tactically apt you are and how much the dice gods favor/hate you)

I mean, true grit + S6 attacks and a bunch of special rules? they're like mini-super-marines.
