Default neophyte?

Neophytes. Is there set i can buy of them? Can I just use Codex scouts? Are they worth it?

I usually put about 1 neophyte for every 2 initiates, unless it's an 'armored fist' type squad, then just ten initiates...

SM scouts work ok, though I prefer some conversions to help them fit the BT image. There's an article on GW about converting Neophytes, someone probably has the link handy, i'll look for it myself.

if i understand correctly, BT neophytes are usually represented with sm scouts. gamewise, they're a fun alternative to power armor, and generally cheaper

model wise, scouts are kind of a pain-watch out for the pistol holster, certain torso positions won't fit on it! and expect to need to fill some gaps ont he left arm...other than that, they're pretty cool models too :]

cheers!

there will be gaps between each plastic part that will need to be sealed with Green Stuff or other modeling putty. Don't try to fill it with glue, as it worsens the look of the model, trust me.

Yes! And sometimes it goes by the name 'Knead-a-tight'... Spelled like it sounds, all one word, and I believe the actual spelling is 'Kneadatite'.

:] if you don't find any kneadatite, just look for something claylike that is green/yellow on one side and blue on the other.. :]

watch out for the left arm. the left shoulderpad is moulded so that the little pockets on the scout chest fits right in. problem is, it doesn't always fit, alas.
so watch for that ! just fill it in with GS or kneadatite, whatever you find. good luck !

and also watch out for the pistol holster. i mentioned it earlier i think, but it doesn't jibe with the torso/arms in certain positions. i usually just shave the top a millimeter and the round it down a bit. :]

I only have 5 neophytes in my entire colection. I used chainswords from the Assault Squad sprue(bad idea), and the scout bolt pistols with the supressors and scopes cut off. I also had a chaos marine head lying around so I cut the horns of and stuck that on. Not the best Neohpytes in the world.

Neophytes are like Knight Squires... they learn everything from initiates, is the first step in black templar ranks. They go to battle to learn and see if they worth the gene seed from the chapter.

It is hard conversion for them, better get old collection neophytes with chainsword and bolt pistol.

But the convertion seen pretty good but you need lots of pieces of other armies like bretonia or chaos.

i made my neophtyes by combining the scout sqaud sprues, the crusader sprues and bretonian men at arms sprues.

and did hand swapps on the scout arms to get more templar weapons, becouse they dont need silent wepons becouse there not scouting anymore so it looks more meanand templar like.

i also used the heads and legs from the bretonian men at arms this gives them a much more medieval look wich id definaley more black templar. they were a bit pricey though

i just wish i could take the credit for the idear it was actauly ty finichiaro of the US web team who did it first i have the link here

http://uk.games-workshop.com/spacema...g-neophytes/1/

it has some othere cool idears in there 2

but if u dont want to convert then just use normal codex scouts just dont forget to use the shotguns or the bolt pistol and close combat wep becouse u cant use bolters as neopthyte weps
