| Well, it look like you need some Heavy Support! I'm not familiar with the Black Templars Codex, but if a Predator is allowed, take one! A lascannon turret with H. Bolters sponsons, perhaps... If not, maybe a Land Raider (or Crusader)? Or a Dreadnought or two? Yeah, dreadnoughts.

a crusader is also a bit too much of an 'all your eggs in one basket' model too! a pred does look rather tempting though though i might go for the autocannon & heavy bolters for some added anti-hoard fire power?hmmmm... maybe another land speed w/multi-melta for added anti-tank is in order too??? gha! too many choices!!! thanx again cheers!

| Well AV10 isn't that difficult either... But that's up to you. Land Speeders are a lot more mobile. But if you take 2 dreads, plus the transports and speeders you have now, your opponent will have his plate full of armour to bust, and unless it's Tau, that will intimidating at the least. I suggested a Predator because there doesn't seem to be that much long-range firepower. I mean, you've got plenty of tankbusting stuff, bu tit's a bit short ranged. Multi-meltas need to be close for full effect, and the Razorback isn't the best tank-hunter because it has light armour. Plus, if you take a predator for tank-hunting, then you can give less expensive weapons to your squads, and make them more anti-personnel.

add-in the all lascannon pred for tank-hunting then? or do you find the twin-las turret & heavy bolter sponsons better all-round??? termies are out - my background being as a secretive and reculsive chapter, the bearers are without alot of the more specialised/prized wargear! did i mention i hate choices?!! thanx again for the help, i'll try and tinker a bit with the list and re-post it soon cheers!

| hmmm... using the Razorback for transport destrustion wouold be a good use for it. Personally, I do use the 3-lascannon Predator, but I read on Raziel's guide that the lascannon/h.b. combo is better all around. However, I think that's assuming that you have devastators to support. So maybe not. Unless devastators are something you would get.

| appologies for the double post, but i feel it might be eaiser to simply re-post my list rather than everyone scanning back and forth between seperate pages! i've decided to stop at 1850pts which i believe is the american tournament standard? and also, my head hurts more than enough simply getting it upto this point!lol. for any 1700pts events, i'll simply lose the vindicator HQ: The Warrior True; Keeper Ardis, (Castellan) w/Power weapon, Bolter-plasma gun Combi-weapon, Orb of True Faith, Terminator honours. cost; 120 pts Retinue; Veteran Sergeant Thanus w/Power fist, Bolt pistol. Apothecary Omoc w/Bolter and Narthecium 2 marines w/Multi-meltas 2 marines w/bolters. cost; 181 pts HQ: The Pilgrim; Blessed Brother Sokar, The Chosen (Emperor’s Champion) w/Deathbringer, Black Armour of Hades and Terminator honours. Vow; Suffer not the Unclean to live cost; 125 pts ELITES: The Ferryman; Brother Charon, Techmarine w/Bolter, Power weapon, Signum, Auspex, Crusader seals, Servo arm. Retinue; 4 Gun Servitors w/Heavy bolters cost; 170 pts TROOPS: Squad Puritas; 1 Initiate w/Power fist and Bolt pistol 1 Initiate w/Meltagun 8 Initiates w/Bolt pistols, CCW's 4 Acolytes w/Shotguns 2 Acolytes w/Bolt pistols & CCW's. cost; 245 pts TROOPS: Squad Fury; 1 Initiate w/Power weapon and Bolt pistol. 1 Initiate w/Flamer 6 Initiates w/Bolt pistols, CCW's. 4 Acolytes w/Bolt pistols, CCW's. cost; 184 pts TROOPS: Squad Icarrus; 1 Initiate w/Lascannon 4 Initiates w/Bolters 1 Acolyte w/Shotgun cost; 105 pts TROOPS: Squad Ferrus; 1 Initiate w/Rocket launcher 4 Initiates w/Bolters 1 Acolyte w/Shotgun cost; 100 pts TROOPS: Squad Vengeance; 1 Initiate w/Flamer 4 Initiates w/Bolters 1 Acolyte w/Bolt pistol & CCW cost; 96 pts Transport; Razorback w/Twin-linked Heavy bolters, Extra armour. cost; 75 pts FAST ATTACK: Squad Annhialatum; 3 Attack bikes w/twin-linked Bolters, Heavy bolters. Frag grenades cost; 150 pts FAST ATTACK: Squad Apocalypton; Land Speed Tornado w/Heavy bolter & Assault cannon. cost; 80 pts FAST ATTACK: Squad Ignis; Land Speeder w/Multi-melta cost; 65 pts HEAVY SUPPORT: ‘Light of Faith’, Vindicator w/hull-mounted Demolisher cannon, Storm bolter, Power of the Machine Spirit. cost; 155 pts hopefully this is better?!! cheers!

| Ah, yes, the Vindicator! That's a cool choice! I didn't even remember that that was an SM vehicle! Looks good!

| what model are u using for it (the vindicator)? are u using the old bits w/ the new rhino? i have one in my SM army, and i use an old griffon morter tank with the gun lowered. i like it cause its one of the only SM tanks that have an ordanance blast (i dont like whirlwinds. bad at guessing ranges) |

otherwise, it looks like i might get to treat myself to another bit of forgeworld goodness as a side note, you don't need to guess range anymore with a whirlwind (or any barrage weapon!) you just delcair your target, check your ranges (and don't forget if you have a minimum range ) and then place your template and scatter!the whole guessing was droped because far too many people cheated... cheers!

| Trooper ![]() | I think what you have is pretty good. For larger games, you may want some longer range support (even though BTs are a close combat army anyway) like a small squad with a missile launcher and a plasma gun. Just my opinion, it's how I play, support and deny.

| i doubt very much i'll go beyond the current 1700pts layout, as this is designed mainly for tournament play here in canada! the only addition i'd make would be adding in 150pts worth of sword brethren! (again, the coversion possibilities are nearly endless!) overall i'm not too concerned with tank hunting, as if i fail to close in and get my main units stuck into the enemy, i've probably lost! ![]() cheers!
