yea seriously. i was interested in it, but not alot of people play. people that want to play mostly want to link regular battles. that would make it easier to do campaigns, if the players had fleets around the planet.

Ah man dont get me started on the great game known as BFG. I mean its thee most under rated thing ever. ONce you get into it, you will love it. I have a rather large Imperial fleet and so far Im known as the Invincible White Fleet. hahaha (ships are painted white) And if you have enough people to get a campaign going with 40k then you will love everything always! hahaha

Well 40k might of seemed complicated when you first looked at it. But in reality its similar to 40k and fantasy.

ok, i know that this isnt related to what the original question is, but its still BFG.
does anyone else find it rediculous that GW is making you BUY the BFG rules? they used to be free, now its $40 for the rules of the game, rules for the chaos, ork, imperial, and eldar fleets, some painting things and 'a comprehensive campaign system.' whatever the hell that means....

see for yourself...

I downloaded all the rules free from the specialist-games website.

oh...maybe its just for people who want an actual hardcover book instead of printer paper rules. that makes sense then.

So are there any veteran BFG players out here. I'm very far away from my fleet at the moment, but would like to talk about it. Also if you need help with any fleets I have tactics for each one, the game is so cool, you feel like a fleet academy cadet as you read the books and consider your moves. Inertia makes the game so tactical it is awsome.

Hmm, ive wanted to play BFG for ages. Ive read al the rules and stuff and I think its really good. Eventually I will probably get an imperial fleet, as they look good, and there is lots of conversion options.

What is the actualy quality of the minitures like? And what size are they (mm)?

They are small-thunder hawks are about 5mm long and the biggest strike cruisers are only about 100mm long (give or take).

I cant get a game nowadays, since confrontation, mechwarrior and warmachine infiltrated my local club no-one plays anything GW based and all they do is look down on you and scoff if you dare mention wanting a game (but there are a few of us who have formed an underground movement and meet on different nights to them-but none of them play BFG)

Ha, thats another thing that puts me off. The cost to model size/amount ratio is terrible in BFG! Even worse that in 40K!!!

The models are about 100mm long for a small cruiser to about 150mm a reasionably large battleship.

The price hike was recent.
The 3 tau ships (Merchant, Hero and Explorer) have suddenly jumped from £10, £12 and £15 to £18 each For ONE ship.

I haven't checked the other fleets yet but I'd assume the price is up too.

hazza to that perturabo hehe. The thing i like with battlefleet gothic is that you can mix it with 40k say 2 part mission part 1 distract the enemy fleet so your terminators can slip thorugh the enemy lines excetera. Good for scenery ideas like the command birdge of a retribution class
