Default Inquisitor

So then, who here plays Inquisitor? What warband(s) do you have? And what Faction do they follow?

Personally i have one small warband at the moment, an Ordos Xeno Inquisitor(Heroka Vendile) and his two compartiots Jena Ellwest(Enforcer) and Corporal Issac Kroft(Guardsman).
This version of Vendile is still young and with minor experience. He focuses on destroying any and all xeno taint he finds. He was Scholared by Inquisitor Gordon Septimarl, a well known and respected Inquisitor of the Ordo Xeno, and it is from here he picks up his initial haterid of all things xeno.
Jena transferred from the service of Inquisitor Spetimarl to the service of Vendile when he achieved the rank of full Inquisitor. She first came into Spetimarls' service at the same time that Vendile became an Interrogator.
Kroft was recruited at the end of the Acheron Campaign(or rather, he will be ) after Vendile had been tasked with vetting the purity of the remaining Kithode Sesch Gurillas before they were allowed back into the imperial community. Kroft is both a demolition and scouting expert and comes in handy sometimes just for the shear effect his skills can have.

EDIT (Oct 2007): This post is now horribly out of date, plain wrong and is actually from shortly before I played my first game (although I'd already spent time learning the rules and the attitude of the Inquisitor players at large on The Conclave, so i wasn't a n00b when i made this opening post, just a newbie).
My Inquisitor is actually called Hinran Itholian now (Inquisitor Heroka Vendile has been consigned to only appearing in written fiction pieces) and he has eight followers. I can't be bothered right now to go into any detail about them.

I'd like to start playing Inquisitor, though the hardest thing to ever find is... someone to just play the game with...

shame isn't it.

well on that account the best options are to ask around at the Veterans night at your local GW, get a friend or two to start it as well, or simply join the Conclave ( http://www.specialist-games.com/inqu..._b/default.asp ) - the official unofficial Inquisitor forum, theres a topic in the hobby section with a list of where folks live around the world, the perfect way to find opponents.
I'm lucky in that my local GW is GW Glasgow(Scotland), which actually has a reasonably good sized Inquisitor following.

I played in one campaighn. I was an ex-imperial guard sniper with a fear of being on ground level. No jokes, it was a serious problem. I hold the highest number of knee-cap shots and kills in my club

I would, but the current range of models look rather limited, and given my propensity for conversion but lack of sculpting skill, thats a problem.

I've started playing again. I want to start a warband based on a squad that has been *a-hem* requisitioned by an Inquisitor. So far I have the Grizzled Sergeant, and I'm using random profile generator to make the other men. The inquisitor is going to be done soon. I have a model in the works for the sergeant and will post pics at some point.

Peace out

You can just use 40k scale models. This way you don't have to have a big playing space, and you most likely already have terrain for your models. Just scale the distances down.

I have not yet played, but I have read through the rules, and am trying to get my friends into it, since we're already into RPGs.

I tired, but no one wants to learn the rules. I'm on my way of trying to get the rules and mesh them & D&D, if I can.

i once GM'ed my regular D&D group in a 40k roeplay using =][= rules... the campaign lasted 3 sessions. the rules are too much for a RP. too complex and they bog down combats way too much, especially if your party is fighting 30 mutants using such rules. insane! it was fun while it lasted though

Hence why I would only use the =I= rules for a basis. All of ti would be converted down to D&D.

If that works well, would you let me know? I think my group would like that better than =][=.

Although I did see that there is going to be an actual WH40k RPG coming out next February called "Dark Heresy". I'm excited.

Do tell. I'm interested. If it's not better than =][=, then no sense buying it, or being excited for that matter.

It does appear that it is tailored to playing Inquisition members only, which kinda sucks...

And from what I see, the storyline is rather set, etc... It's basically just like the d&D basic game booklet. Everything is there, rules are simple, and you have no control of the plot.

Hm. I'm sure that can be remedied... I guess we'll see.

That's only the first book. After that, I think, they're releasing two other books. One for Space marines (Giving them a REAL challenge. Summat like 5 marines against an entire 'Stealer coven) and one for Imperial Guard. I like how it's shaping up to be honest, but there's one crucial thing keeping me firmly in the =][= camp:
Models
Peace out! I'm off for an early pint

On Dark Heresy:

Yes, it will be Inquistor only. However, it will have a lot of options... and with a bit of work, and a bit of looking around the Black Industries Forum (forum.blackindustries.com) I'm sure you can find conversions to do other things.

And, at least from my RPG experiance, looking at the SRD (System Reference Document, core D&D rules) I would say the system that Dark Heresy will be using (the same system that Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play uses, with modifications) is MUCH better, more investigation, socialization, and exploration, less combat.

And what is this limited story line? Its an RPG damnit! You can do whatever you want! (With limits... you can't go off and kill Khorne or the Emperor... realistically).

Seriously... Dark Heresy looks freaking awesome... I will be buying at least the Core Rule book and see what its like, and use it for insperation for role-playing here and else were.

It's using the % system? Cool! I thought they were doing summat a la DnD from what a mate of mine said. Either ways good, but the percentile sytem is better for me . Now, I'd like to submit a character to you guys. Should I post it here, or should I post it somewhere like the army lists?

Peace out!

Umm... submit a character? Umm... what does that mean?

Oh, and its funny, lots of people have said, "is this game going to be 20d, cause that sucks!" when Black Industries has made it very clear that they make their own systems...

Further reason not to bother with it if it's using a new system I'd have to learn.

Dude... the system is sooo simple though... I was looking over the SRD trying to figure out how it works... D&D is so inferior to WFRP and the %system.
