| High Lord of Terra ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | you bet it does! unless there is some specail rule for your caster you can not be equiped with any type of armour or you loose your casting ability. You can't even pay the points and just say 'well he is not wearing it right now'. That doesn't work. Hope that helps! Servo |

Blog Entries: 1 | certain pieces of magical armour allow spell casters to wear it and still toast the enemy with fireballs but normal armour can't be worn by wizards without loosing their magical abilities. all in all such armour is rarely worth it since you don't really want your wizards anywhere near combat and a ward save is preferable to armour any day.

| The Witchhunter ![]() | actually that rule got tossed in 7th edition - there is now no problem with magic being cast be those wearing armour however the mage must have the option to wear mundane armour in his army list entry in order to take magic armour unless the magic armour's description states otherwise. in the case of the vampires - top of page 85 (just above the list of magic armour) states that vampires may always choose magic armour and if they have also taken Dread Knight or Avatar of Death, the magic armour replaces the heavy armour granted by those bloodline powers Last edited by Drax; 04-14-2008 at 05:16 AM. |

that was up to and including 6th edition - there is no longer any rule that states that you cannot wear armour and cast spells - what it does say is that if you cannot take mundane armour, then you cannot take magic armour unless the item states otherwise then gives the example that many mages' ability to cast spells are affected by wearing armour - but that is not a rule, it is just an example of the fluff reasons. | |
