Blog Entries: 1 | Orges are definatly Mongolia I think (huns) or was that hobogoblins (can't remember where their from). Elves are definatly like atlantis (the island is in the middle of the ocean). Don't forget Cathay=China, Nippon=Japan, and I think there was one more but can't remember.

Blog Entries: 1 | I have to disagree with you on the Wood Elves, Warbeast. The ones in fantasy arent anything like the ones in LoTR. The ones in LoTR are very civilized and akin to gods whereas these elves are wild!

Blog Entries: 1 | I personally have no idea where the giant rats came from unless they are based off Kobolds from D&D!!!

Blog Entries: 1 | ^some of those make no sense. For example I think the Empire is like the roman empire in the gunpowder age.

| Kriegsmeister ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm going to have to say The Empire is almost entirely based off of The Holy Roman Empire (which was most of Germany) around the 30 Years War. In fact I remember reading somewhere that's what they were inspired by originally. The other ones look ok but I'd say that brettonia could be either french or british pre-agincourt (1415 IIRC). BvL

Blog Entries: 5 | Bret- French / Aryan Templars Empire-British / German (von, van etc. Plus the helmets.) Lizardmen-Inca/aztec Ogres- Gah, I know this one and all >.< Hordes of Chaos- Norse Orcs- Perhaps the Picts? Elves- Hmm, Wood Elves perhaps Celtic Tribes? High Elves- God knows, Persian maybe? Dark Elves- No idea. Tomb Kings-Eygpt Vamp Counts- Zombie/Dracula/Vampire Dwarves- Scottish accents as ever '-.- I believe their language is based on Norse runes however. And they also rever ancestors highly. Skaven - Mmhm, I would say Chinese. Not because the chinese are rats or anything, but the Martial prowess of the assasiny thing which I can't remember. The guns of Skyre, The fanatical warriors of Nan Zhong remind me of the Plague monks (minus the plages) and then You have the big brutes of Moulder being perhaps representative of the Elephant shock troops Nan Zhong employed? But I could be talking piddle. |

| Confused and Enraged ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Bret- French with a bit of English influence Empire- German, The names of people and places gives it away. (I've seen pics of a place called Schwarzkopf, which is german for Black Head, they should have thought again before calling some poor village that.) Lizardmen- Inca/aztec Ogres- Mongolian. They just make me think of Gengais Khan. Hordes of Chaos- Norse. They even have viking style longboats. High Elves- Atlantis, I think Ulthan looks like that because most of it was destroyed or sank when the elves used the vortex against Chaos. Tomb Kings- Ancient Eygpt Vamp Counts- Transylvania. Can anyone say Bram Stroker's Dracula?? |
