I mainly play my Chaos undivided/khorne army and my new Talebheim 3rd company(empire). I also have some dwarfs but since battle for the skull pass came out everyone seems to collect them so theyre warming the bench for now.

i am a proud follower of the druiichi ways.
well, i guess was a follower would be a better term. i dont play WHFB anymore. i started off playing warhammer, but then once i started 40k, about 3 years later, i got really into it. i just think the rules system is alot simpler, easier to play, and more realistic.

I have about 1200pts of Dwarfs.
I've been meaning to get more but my 40k needs overwhelm me.

well, i've very recently just started building a new 2000pts empire army themed around the household guard of a powerfull amethyst wizard!

i've also had the rather dirty idea of building a tzeentch mortal chaos army that includes both a tzeentch lord riding a chaos dragon and a chaos giant! (quite evil considering that's ment for a 2000pts army!)

cheers!

Damn it Stitch. You have a very nasty habit of bringing tonnes of oversized things to standard games.
Just look at that Nid list you made.

what can i say, i have a 'little monster inferiority complex'?!!

the plan is the tzeentch lord on dragon, chaos giant and lots of marauders & warhounds to make up the numbers!
(and if i'm crafty, hopefully a battle standard bearer riding in chariot and 12 tzeentch warriors w/extra hand weapons!)

and that 'nid list is going to one day go to astro nottingham!

cheers!

Mines just the Skull pass Dwarf stuff, plus the battalion, some extra miners and 10 Ironbreakers. To be honest, I don't even have the 'dex yet, I've just planned this list by using the Dwarfs for 3-4 games and seeing what works well. I hope to get more Ironbreakers eventually, plus a Runesmith for that extra dispell dice (is he worth it?) and a lord with great weapon in place of the Skull Pass one.

And that list sounds nasty Stitch!

hehehe! well, it's more likely one of those 'nastier on paper' lists really...

- dwarfs will love facing almost 1000pts worth of multi-wound beasties with all their lovely war machines and hand guns! and then there's those orange-haired death dealing freeks plus great weapons out the wazoo.

- empire again will have sooooo much fun blowing holes in big monsters with their great cannons and helblasters. not to mention their dirt cheap handgunners and the return of the outriders!

- skaven and their warp tech work wonders against monstrous stuff. and they'll horribly outnuber any chaos army easily.

- vampire counts... *shudders*

the list likely goes on! basically it's going to be one of those, 'i can and it looks so fething cool!' armies
still, as bad a dragon & giant in the same list are, our local gw manager is thinking of taking it one step further...

cheers!

When I've used Slayers I've always found them quite pointless. If an army can shoot, or has some fast moving charging units, the Slayers are dead after about 2 turns. Everyones so scared of them that they die almost instantly. Its why I find Ironbreakers much more playable. And you gotta love 16 Longbeards with great weapons, and the lovely 16 miners...

Slayers are used to guard the flanks so no fast cavalry or scouts get behind your gunline.

I have just started my Empire army. I'm working towards 2000 points from Reikland. Since my main opponent plays Bretonnians, looks like there's a border war brewing.

I've got about 1,500 pts of Orcs & Goblins (2 skull pass boxes started that of nicely and cheaply). Its about 25% painted and honestly hardly sees the light of day. I've played about 5 fantasy games and I just like 40k better.

I don't really like the models from the Battle For Skull Pass set.
They seem to be poorly made and generally lacking any great detail or poseability.

To be honest, for the basic grunts of the army the Battle for Skull Pass is definitely worth it. Its how I started my Dwarf army (BW bits, I bought what I needed for next to nothing), and meant that I could have a 15 strong unit of miners, and all the rest of the Battle for Skull pass set, along with the rest of my army.

I agree its a good deal, especially if you split it with some one (thats what I did) . All of the Night Goblins that you get (except the gobos w/short bows...they are worthless lol) are a good start for an army I just gotta figure out how to play em and build a decent list.
