Default The Adeptus Custodes

As discussed a november, I am developing rules for my Adeptus Custodes, and want to see what you think of the 'Final' details. Ive started converting already, well only the heads at the moment. Im just wanting to know what you people think.

By the way, im going for a 10 man squad. 8 have guardian spears, the seargent has other weapons, and the final one has a sacred banner and additional weapon.

Also want to know what would be the best weapons for the sergeant. I'm probably going to give the standard bearer a meltagun.

Very nice! Although you might want to watch the wording on you last rule. Any unit does mean ANY unit (i.e. the ones you don't want to). Any 'friendly' or any 'Imperial' unit might work best. Otherwise, looks great, and you even did it up like a Codex entry. Niiiiice.

There not exactly 3X as good. More like 1.5x.

They aren't really. They have no ability to select psychic power, no shroud, everything else chesse the GK get. Sure, they are vicious, but they aren't the be all end all. I think a good cost would be 50 a piece, if anything HAD to be adjusted, but I say leave it at that.

These are so cool! Are you the person who put Custodes in White Dwarf? Also, what force selection slot are they?

ha ha ha, no im not GW staff.

I have got them as HQ actually. Because they are so good, you can only have 0-2 per FOC (Force organisation Chart). Any other slot would not be realistic.

Ah, right ^^;. I see what you mean about the FOC though, they really are nasty! GK termies? Nothing on 'em! Any idea how you're going to convert them?

Im making a 10 man squad, do two command squad boxes, a mix of the three different GK halberds and lots of green stuff.

I have been practicing with green stuff and i am quite confident to add extra armour and stuff now.

Cool. I've no hope of using green stuff, so maybe I'll just hack up loads of plasticard as usual XD. Are they available to all imperial armies?

Hmm, Yes.

Makes sence. Though if you are using them for come little campaign or something, you will have to think of some good fluff to go with it.

Also....Custodians; Would it be possible for people to be allowed to use these models in a battlefield 40K game if they had a good enough mission/fluff reason?

i would make them 0-1, cause it would have to be an EXTREMLY rare occasion for them to go out!
unless you plan on using them with a pre-heresy army, i would make them 0-1
and a small squad size.

0-2 is fine. If they want to waste both their HQ slots on these, and limit the squad size to 5 (or a ten man command squad somehow?) that would be ok, and even at a ten man squad, you're still going to be crazy to invest the points in using both your HQ slots on these guys, no matter how beefy.

Im sure some luck from the dice gods and a few Ordanance blast markers could soon get rid of most of the squad.

Hey, a nice pic of the Custodes, Emperor, and Sisters of Silence. I wonder, would anyone need to make up rules for them, or would they follow the Sisters of Battle? Here's that pic: http://www.games-workshop.de/warhamm...rusheresy2.jpg.

Hmmm, rules for the Emperor. Should we even go there. Its kind of one of those forbiden model, if you know what i mean. Unless we are doing some kind of pre-Heracy game or something...

Im not even going to begin modeling the emperor. Have you seen any of them;

That is my custode... the base isn't done yet and the pic quality is low but it is pretty nice... bolter at the end of a banner arm (From the new command squad box) glued right at the back of the bolter (grip cut off...) power sword on top of the bolter so about half is over the bolter and half hangs over... scope on top facing side of bolter (to cover gap) purity seals (again to fill gap) at the back end of the sword... company Champion shoulder pads, pointing arm and two dark eldar manes (crazy hair things) on the backpack to add a little bit of style... (he was looking a little lacking...) and finally his head is a dark eldar head (the one with the blades on the sides which i trimmed off). I built him at games day baltimore 2006 with clippers and plastic glue (hence the filling of gaps with scope and purity seals...) Good luck

Edit:

If you notice the last picture the staff looks like it is bending.. well i looked closely at it and it was breaking off... i just fixed it and replaced the pic so you won't notice the bend anymore...

Oh and the pics are reversed... just so you know.... it is really weird... i would fix it but i am too lazy and had to Re-install OSX and lost photoshop...

Oh thats a damn good model. nice use of the bitz!

I tried messing around with some DE head, but they are not very good wuality, and they vary in size and shape alot. Nice for one man, not for 5 - 10.

Im thinking of using the two Calgar Guard from the marneus calgar command squad. http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefr...299&orignav=10

Once I buy some, ill start a WIP thread for them...

first off, tigurius, that is some awesome work :} excellent. to cag: what are you planning to do with the calgar guards? those are awesome models but there is definitely a lot of ultras stuff on them...and as for that emperor model, i feel like one could be a lot more graceful/powerful looking than that one, but that's just me. :]
