Feel no Pain vs Rending

Greetings all,

I bring to you a question that has just recently been brought to my attention. For some time now I was under the assumption that a weapon with a low enough AP value would take away a Feel no Pain role if it took away the targets armour save. This has been proved to be incorect. It states that shooting that causes instant death and Close Combat weapons that take away armour saves negate the affect.

This is where I need help. The Rules Clearly state that shooting only negates Feel no Pain when it inflicts instant death, but that was before certain shooting weapons were given the rending special rule. Rending is stated to take a way the Feel no Pain rule in the BBB, but only under the Close Combat Classification. Has there been any offical ruling on this.

I checked the latest FAQ (scoffs at the fact that it was realsed back in '06), but saw nothing in there about the Rending specail Rule vs. Feel no Pain.

I am looking for an offical source for an answer, can any one help?

my apologies servo i was incorrect with the rending rule, you would not get a feel no pain against it regardless if it is shooty or CC rending is special. since it does not allow an armor save like a power weapon.

No appologies needed. You were absolutely correct that you get your Feel No Pain against Plasma. I just want to know the offical ruling on this. I am just a little OCD about my rules and I need to know where I can find the offical ruling on this.

i think you would have to look under the ap rule explantion to hammer out the specifics on it.
