Default An Idea...Adeptus Mechanicus Exploritory Force

well I have always wanted to do an Adeptus Mechanicus kind of force and have never really be interested in Tech Guard using doctrines so I got the idea to make trail rules for them and see if they work out with proxies and in friendly non torniment games

I got plenty of ideas for it and I figured the coolest way to do it would be making rules for an exploratory/Tech questing force with plenty of fun/zany rules for tech relics and experimental tech that such a force would possess

Just wondering if anyone thinks it would be cool or would help out with this little project

HQ:

Must include a Tech Priest Lord

Tech-Priest 4 5 4 4 2 4 2 8 3+ 38 points base cost

Independent character unless give body guard

Weapons:Master Crafted Bolt Pistol and Master Crafted Cult Mechanicus Axe
(power weapon

Options: Access to armory up to 100 points (armory I'll make soon enough)

Servitor Body Guard:

May accompany Tech-Priest Lord

...........WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
Servitor 3 4 3 4 1 3 1 10 5+ 9 points each

3-9 form a body guard

options:

Combat Bionics: +1 Attack and Strength, +4 points each

Ranged Bionics: may have biologically attached Lasguns, +3 points each or
Bolters +5 points each

Up to 2 servitors with combat bionics may further upgrade to a power fist at +15 points

Up to 3 Servitors may upgrade to Heavy Weapon Bionics at +5 for Heavy Bolter, +10 for Autocannon, +15 for multi-melta, +20 for Plasma Cannon, +25 for Lascannon

Rules:

Protectors: Programed to protect their master at all cost The tech-Priest lord can allocate wounds to servitors

Slow: They can only consolidate after assaults

Bodyguard: they must stay with their master and will test using the Tech Priest's leadership

Mindless & Implacable:If the Tech-Priest is killed or somehow leaves the unit they go on emergency orders:
Move toward nearest enemy, Shoot nearest enemy If possible and assault nearest enemy if possible. They also become Fearless.



Hows that? Darn tried to align the stat line but couldn't oh well you get it

a writer or employee of Games Workshop once made an Adeptus Mechanicus army using the Lost and the Damned rules or was it legion of the damned. its the one with the corrupt guardsmen and chaos stuff.

anyway when i find it (busy cleaning my room) ill post the issue number

That would be WD 305, I think. Yeah, Dave Taylor (I saw him at Adepticon!!!) made an Adeptus Mechanicus army using the Lost and the Damned rules.

that would work really well!
the different mutations would be implants. chaos spawn could be like archo-flaggelant type things
big mutants=praetorians or some other high-implant smasher thing O' doom

the only obvious thing missing would be lots of tanks, though you could take defilers as some weird A.M. walker.

this is the list he used.


alright in his tech-guard squad dave has given them a tech priest and enginseer. the lascannon was given sentinel legs and looks like a walker

the combat servitors are pretty much ogres with lots of green stuff and wires.

i know this o****eracts the desire to make a new list, but the LatD army list is great for ad mech (or, more specifically, a knight world list). defilers make a perfect knight. possessed can be combat servitors, while mutants can (with a bit of imagination) make all sorts of enhanced nasties. traitors can be lightly armoured skitaari, and of course theres all the Ig stuff. the chaos lietenant can be a magos leader. obliterators make great ogryn servitors (at a stretch)

i love that list! it also makesa kickass genestealer cult list no limousines mind you...

This sounds like a really interesting list. I can't wait until you get some more rules up and, if you do model an entire Ad-Mech aremy, some pics of the models.

I'm all for AdMec list, so i'll be watching this one for a while, contributing whenever. I originally wanted to make one, but the list i made was too true to AdMec style, too versatile, too many options. (pardon my bad grammar but...)My head went and near got its self exploded before i finally decided that i would give up, at least to rest my brain.

Oh and crank up the Lord's point costs a bit, and up the armoury poitns a bit too (they are MECHANICUS lords after all)
points crank up cause i think 38/50 is a bit overpowered for Master Crafted BP/Power Weapon at base

I found an old List GW actual made for ad-mech! It has pretty much anything you could imagine the ad-mech having its very tasty but not legal of course but If anyone wants to see it just ask I'll e-mail it to you (its too big to post on this site) and there is no copy right on it
