Planetary Campaign

Even fielding 3,000-5,000 pts of models...it's still just a single battle( a single BIG battle). I was wondering if anyone has tried a full-scale planetary battle...one where each battle has rammifications, ie. the winner gets more points for the next battle or the loser cannot use any fast attack or similar effects.
Being a Tyranid player, I'd love to try this out...start a few battles using Battlefleet Gothic, each battle affecting the next...
Then launch the planetary assault...maybe 2 tables, like in a WD i read, with one table being an "artillary" table...Earthshakers lobbing shells over onto the "main" table. Stop the guns or you get pounded each turn!
Tons of possibilities...as long as each battle has a pre-set win/lose consequence for each army. Makes each victory even sweeter!
Maybe even a world map, divided into areas that give the holder a bonus...

sorry...went off on a bit of a rant there...
but it would be fun!

planning out a campaign takes a lot of time
lots of scenerios
one master list
losts of smaller list (from the master list) your not gonna take a land raider on a raid
a event map with a definate end (if p1 win then this scenerio next if p2 win then this scenerio if tied then go on to this one)

or a map with random battle generator
we used the risk board and the generator went from 500-4000 pts
and with other aspects like preliminary bombardment
things along those lines

we also played BFG campaign with 40k repercusions

you mean having say, a game of BFG, then a game of 40K where the winner of the BFG game gets bombardment or something, ive allways liked the Idea of it. i never really tried arrangeing it, otehr than what the staff at my local GW run, ive got no real campaign exp, but im up for trying, and im itching for an excuse to but a SM strike cruiser or two for BFG. im sorry i dont know how to play BFG, but the modles so far just look Awesome.

yea pretty much but it was more like every transport has 500pts worth of army and if they make it to the planet you get that many points for the 40k battle
the best way is to get with some gamers and make a club
than build your own tables and scenery
then maps and other aspect you will need

cool then you are there just ask who wants to play a campaign
the most playerwe had in one at one time was 5
that was difficult to coordinate those battles
but we used to pay on sat
first we would match up
battle
decided next line of action
if we had time a second and third battle
before we left we would make match ups for next week
(remember dont make it too rigid it needs to flexible until the 2nd or 3rd campaign to figure out what works best for your crew)
its trial and error
have make up battles if the 2players can play on a different day let them
its not a bowling league after all

linking games of bfg --> epic --> 40k --> inquisitor, is really cool, especially if you have the time and patience tocome up with objectives and rewards for each game (thats what strategy cards were so good for back in 2nd - for use as rewards)
