Stormtrooper Bodyguards This was an idea we were kicking around on another forum, 40kOnline. When we got to thinking about giving people the option of a proper Stormtrooper Command HQ, and that it was odd that Creed was the only Officer with a bodyguard. So I wrote up some rules for the 'Life Guard', taking the name from the Lord General's bosyguards in Sabbat Martyr. Here goes:
Any veteran in a Command HQ not acting as a Standard Bearer or Medic may be upgraded to a Life Guard at a cost of +10pts ________Pts/Model__Ws__Bs__S__T__W__I__A__Ld__Sv Life Guard__+10 _____4___4___3__3__1__3__1__8__4+ Weapons:The Life Guard has a hellgun with targeter, and frag and krak grenades. Options: The Life Guard may swap his hellgun for a hellpistol and close combat weapon for free. Alternately, he may select any wargear allowed by the Imperial Guard armoury, and is treated as a Veteran Stormtrooper Sergeant for the purposes of purchasing weapons and wargear. Special Rule Bodyguard: If within 2" of the Command Platoon's Officer, the Life Guard may change places with him at the start of either player's Assault phase. He will then fight the Officer's opponants (if any), and the Officer will fight his (if any). If there are multiple Life Guard in the unit, only one may use this ability per turn.
EDIT: it appears the table tags don't work on this forum, is there any way to get them to work? Or will I have to fiddle with them until it looks right?
