Default 2nd Fight

Ok my 2nd fight was much better.

Doctrines

Battle:

NO TERRAIN and NO COVER SAVES

6'x 4' table played long ways

Well I was worried that without the deepstriking or infiltration rules in effect the Hammerhead was going to kill me quick.

Turn 1

I got first turn and moved all my forces 6” forward. No shots fired.

He moved everything but his 2 squads and Missed my Chimera with his Hammerhead

His piranhas moved and caused a couple KIA on my lead squad.

His Crisis Suit immobilized my Sentinel.

Turn 2

Next turn I aim for his crisis suits and take out 1 of them with my autocannons and 1 with a concentration of Fire from my grenade launchers and chimera.

He once again plays hit and run on my squads with his leftover crisis suits and piranhas; He fails to eliminate any whole squad and his hammerhead misses my Chimera Again!

Turn 3

I take out Crisis suit and another Piranha. Drones squad is eliminated

He begins to move his line squads forward. And finally eliminates one whole squad.

Hammerhead misses my Chimera AGAIN!!!

Turn 4

I feel like I am going to win at this point so I begin moving my squads forward in order to keep his tau line squads in some kind of range.

I turn the autocannons on his Tau Infantry and eliminate half of one squad, the fail their morale check and break.

The Chimera fires on the remainng squad with 3 Multilaser shots and 3 Heavy Bolter shots;
it eliminated 4 Tau Warriors but they hold on their Ldship test.

He uses his leader Crisis suit on my chimera. He gets a side shot and finally destroys it. His broken Tau Squad continue to fall back and his 2nd squad destroys what is left of my 2nd Guard squad.

Turn 5 and 6 end up with me wiping the remaining infantry he has, his hammerhead only managing one hit with his Rail gun and only eliminating one member of my command squad.

Hmmm, not bad. Of course maybe if the hammerhead got lucky you might have bit the dust

I was crapping my pants when I saw the hammerhead come out, thank the Emperor for His crappy rolls, otherwise I would have been toast! Although I may have got lucky with a krak grenade or plasma gun shot.

Luck is a very important fanctor in tabletop games that involve randomness

Gotta love the autocannons

Also, this was a pretty small game, he could have used an Ion Cannon instead of the Rail Gun

What did the Kasrkin do in this battle?

The Kasrkin were able to take out a piranha with their plasma's and annhilated a drone squad. most of the time the spent hiding behind the chimera waiting for the hammerhead to move in range. Not a very illustrious battle for them but they didn't take any losses.
