| So we decided to do an assault, i would defend with 500pts, and he would assault with 750pts. His only objective was to be touching the generator for a round(it was a great terrain piece, and almost perfect replica from the SM gens in DOW, it even has a glowing plasma core!!!). Here are the basic lists... Tash'var Hunter Cadre HQ Shas'o Plasma Rifle Missle Pod Shield Generator HWMT HWDC 2 Gun Drones Iridium Armour Stimulant Injector 198pts TROOPS Firewarriors[12] Shas'ui Pulse Rifles Bonding Knife HWDC 2 Gun Drones 155pts Firewarriors Shas'ui Pulse Rifles Bonding Knife HWDC 2 Gun Drones 155pts TOTAL:508 TYRANID ASSAULT FORCE HQ Tyranid Warriors[5] Extended Carparace Venom Cannon Deathspitterx2 Devourerx2 Scything Talons Enhanced Senses TROOPS Hormogaunts[12] Hormogaunts[12] HEAVY SUPPORT Carnifex Twin Deathspitters Barbed Strangler Enhanced Senses Carnifex Crushing Claws Scything Talons Adrenal Gland Mace Tail Flesh Hooks The terrain was simple, a large 7" tall fortress wall on one short end, with the generator behind it(there was also a large opening in the wall as an entrance). The rest of the table had some random terrain pieces like tank traps and such. I set up my force on the wall(mainly around the opening), and his force was set up on the opposite table edge. The wall had a ledge to hide behind, so we decided it gave a 3+ invulnerable save. Basically, he bagan moving up and took a Strangler shot at on of my teams, he hit dead on and i forgot about the cover save and lost 5 guys from the squad. I then did a bit of shooting with my other team at one of the gaunt packs, i took out 6 gaunts with one volley, and the Shas'o shot at the Warriors with his Missle Pod, inflicting 1 wound. On his turn, the Nid player moved up again with all but the Gun-fex. The Gun-fex shot again and clipped a few more off the damaged squad, but the didn't flee and passed the pinning test. The warrior with the Venom cannon took it's shots, but caused no casualties. I then proceeded to shoot again with my damaged team, they brought the damaged gaunt pack down to one. Then the other FW's tried to shoot at the Warriors; I rolled all ones and two's, that was 12 shots, and one was even cocked and re-rolled a one!!! So i was obviously pissed and proceeded to put a wound on the Warriors with my Missle Pod. Now the nids were closing in and things had to be done fast, so he kept on moving up and shot again at my damaged squad with the VC and killed all but 3 FW's and a gun drone. His Strangler finally deviated and missed me completely. I got tired of the one gaunt and killed it with my damaged squad. The other squad and my Shas'o rained hell upon the Warriors and gave all but one wounds. So it's his turn again, by now the gaunts are breaching my defenses, but fortunatly the strangler missed again and the other guns did nothing. I decided to gun down the remaining warriors with my Shas'o and damaged FW team, then i shot up the penetrating gaunts down to half strength, and they failed their check b/c they had no synapse. The two carni's made a steady advance, and the CC Monster made it to the wall while the other one missed again with the BS. Now i was worried about the CC Fex and focused all of my fire to cause merely one wound:P Next turn he moved up the wall and the BS shot actually hit, killing 2 FW's but the stood their ground. Come the assault the fex owned my damaged squad and part of my good team with 9 attacks!!! Thankfully though, he was now out of combat, so i shot at him again with everything and caused another wound. Anyways, he killed off the rest of my FW's and claimed the objective while all the while my Shas'o wa just trying real hard to wound him. In the end, he won the objective and i brought his CC fex down to 2 wounds. All in all it was a fun game and much closer than the previous game i played against Catachans in the jungle(i'll talk about that one another time, all i can say is lot's of bad bad bad die rolls on the imperiums part:P -Eric

| Sounds like it was a good game. I always thought Fire Warriors were cool as hell, most likely due to me reading Fire Warrior then getting the game way back when.

Blog Entries: 5 | NP.. It's an original mission, and shot, yet detailed. I may have a writer question you for more details, maybe pics of some of the models or the generator, etc.. You up for that?
