Default Imperial Guard vs Dark Angles, Blood Angles, Guard w/ DH & WH allies

thats right boys and girls today my mighty forces of imperial guardsmen meet the dark angles, blood angles, and a fallen inquisitor and his mislead allies

Im using the Kharnite Legion as seen in the Guardsmen list area. i would like to thank stitch and all the others who helped me realise an entire army of shooting was foolish and that i would need some hand to hand men.


My first battle was against the dark angles where my men put up a valiant fight but steadly gave ground even though every inch was paid in blood.

His list

Chaplain on bike
6 bikes
1 attack bike
5 deathwing terminators
10 assualt marines
2x 5 man tactical squads with plasma cannon
1 predator annihilator
some other misc.

he gained first turn and led his bikes down a narrow lane i did not see that and quickly took out my 2 basilisk although with out knowing it i used my plug strategy and quickly made him regret it as he lost all his bikes but the chaplain.

his chaplain then surged forth and cut a bloody swathe through a squad of hardened fighters and his men killed all but 2. those two men rallied and stabbed the traitor in his throat. however the enemy was spurred on at the death of their leader and quickly cut my men down. we lost but only at a great cost to their numbers


2nd battle

Guard vs. Blood Angles

His list
1 Chaplain
Vindicators
2 Baal Predators
2 Rhinos
3x 10 man tactical squads 2 mounted in rhinos
1x 10 marine Assault Squad with the Priest of Sanguinairy

His death company was formed of the chaplain and 4 death company


as the evening sun settled over the sky the guard cleaned their weapons and prepared for another bloody battle. It seemed that they would have to fight another misguided army. They began to wonder why every ally was attacking them. They were still loyal to the emperor!

The battle began when the battery of basilsk opened fire and blew apart the death company leaving only the chaplain and one other unfortutane soul. Despite this attack an enemy vidicator managed to hurt the ratlings that had deployed off to the side of his army. We will remember their sacrafice for they had caused the enemy to hold his attack from the main army long enough for us to meet them in combat. Then the leaman russ opened fire and knocked one of the enemy predators off its balance caused it to pause. The heavy weapons specialist within many of the squads opened fire however despite all of their training their shots were off. Curse this planet and all of its sun reflecting crystals.The enemy moved forward its rhinos desposing of its contents into cover. As the ordance reloaded my men let loose another storm of hell and destroyed many of the traitors. the crystals they took refuge in would soon become their tomb.

Despite the best efforts of my men a rhino managed to get close enough to deploy his lethal squad up close. despite the closeness of this new enemy the riders of the desert managed to charge forth and meet them in combat. The remaining men performed valiantly even after taking a direct hit from the vindicator. After the calvary charge my infantry swarmed their posistion even as basilisk shells landed close by even killing the death company champion as some reports claimed.

Despite the best efforts of the enemy the glorious imperial guard meet them in hand to hand combat and defeated them to the last man.


The third battle was lost in records as it was revealed that the list was illegal. Although the game was stilled played using the never ending infantry rule it was still a victory for the loyal servants of the emperor!

what are...Vindicators? As they appear in the BA list.

They're artillery/tank thingies... they're in the 4th Ed. SM codex.

really powerful however they have a short range. almost anything they hit however is going to die 80% of the time



i have no proof that this is a correct percentage so dont bug me about it!

ohhh the tanks. yeah i know what that is. I thought for some reason it was a troop.

Vindicators are leman russ demolisher's same strength ect. but different armour rates.

except alot weaker in comparison to fire power. demolishers get sponsons but back on track.

My Guardsmen killed a blood angles army to the last man! the most assaulting of the space marines were beat in hand to hand by guardsmen!

Remember, Blood Angels aren't particularly any more assaulty than any other SM army if you pre-emptively charge them. That denies them the Furious Charge bonuses.

except that they did get the charge in most conflicts except where my 7 rough riders charged in. (first time using them with some effect. i was really hoping to charge some termies with them but never had the chance)

probably the best combat was when a chaplain killed all but 2 members of a sharpshooter squad. those 2 guardsmen rallied and stabbed the murderer with their butter knives.

if i recall correctly he had kept changing his list before every match. this is illegal where we play. so one minute he might be packing a lascannon on his sentinels then the next they were multilasers.

this is severly frowned upon down here.
