on my first game with my new marines (with an OK'ed vindicare sub for a dread) i lost to the dark angels. i took ten of those secret lovin bastards with me though, so i'll add it to my tally. at the end, he had ezikel with 1 wound and a sarge with power weapon (i had already killed "powerfist joe"), and i had the vindicare with one wound. despite having only a ccw, in my last round of combat, agent alpha blue 007 gave ezikel his second wound, and so he went into a rage and gave my guy a cuncussion.

another loss for the tally...oh well. altohugh i did find the greatest help for puting togrther metal models, it was a spray glue, but it dried instantly on contact and i think it was called "--- zipper"?

dont be fooled by it
i leaves a film on models
i use a dropper instead of the spray
it minimizes waste and getting that stuff on spots you dont need it

i got my dropper from a discarded childrens tylenol bottle
you can just use the bottom of the spray nozzel use the straw as a dropper
dont push the button just let it drip on the desired location

it was 500 pts. and he had 12 guys total, including a whirlwind, which my plasma guns took care of.

hey marcus, don't worry about losing, haha if anything you're doing better than me :P i've played about 5 games in total and have lost all of them [some WAAAY worse than others !]

with the help of HORRID dice rolls, i killed less than 5 space marines while my opponent wiped out my entire army once.
as long as you're doing better than that, i think you'll be fine :] it takes practice too, just like painting and modelling, which i think you're really improving on as well.

LOL if I had a dime for every loss I took.....Im a horrible general and Im stubborn so I continue to field IG. add that to my crappy tactics and its a recipie for disaster.....All im saying if I was a true commander in 40K my commissar would run out of bolts for me......

Well I don't know if this will help you noobs or not, but it took me about 4 years of playing every weekend before I finally started to win more than I lost. I am dead serious I would guess that back in the day I had a bout a 15% win record until I finally not only got the hang of rules, but of general tatics and stratedgy.

The bigest turning point for me was realizing that knowing your enemy is the most important thing you can do to improve your win/loss ratio. Once you can succesfully analize your enemy and put a priority on the nastiness that is in their army then you can start forming stratedyies on how to beat them.

thats the thing with you youngsters you want to run before you walk
were were all noobs its not a bad thing it just means you dont have enough games under your belt.
in second edition i was a newbie(as we were then) for 20 or so games(in 2nd thats alot of time at 1hrs a turn)

trust me when you get older you will understand that is not a good title
maybe you should be the quiz king or the black librarian
just not the FLUFFMASTER

Sorry Lord Marcus... The comments were not directed at you, rather at people in general that have problems winning right away. As I have stated before it took me a good 4 years before I started to have a winning record. I use the term noob because it seems to be the "in" thing to call people of little experience right now. I could call you inexperienced if you would prefer that. I don't mean either one in a duragritory or hurtful manner.

I considered myself an inexperienced gamer for about 4 years before I was able to put my money were my mouth is. Once you get to the point where you are comfortable about the rules, can explain what goes on in your games with using proper terminology, and you get a chance to examine most of the codexes, then people will stop labeling you a noob. Once again I don't mean any disrespect or harmful intent just informing you what goes on in my warp and twisted head.
