Emoticron Prime & the Emo-Necs - 40K Terra

Hello all. Some of you may be aware that I have in my possession a Necron army that will be converted and painted and then sold. And some of you may be familiar with the army theme, though I'm guessing that most do not. So, I'll be sharing that here, as well as, more than likely, a few updates as the army progresses. But first, the reason for placing this thread in this area...

The list:

Emoticron Prime (Lord) w/ Res Orb, Veil of Darkness, Staff of Light

Goth-Lord (Lord) w/ Destroyer Body (Wraith Body), Phase Shifter, Warscythe

Emo-Necs (Warriors - 12)
Emo-Necs (10)
Emo-Necs (10)
Emo-Necs (10)
Emo-Necs (10)

Emo-Cult (Flayed Ones - 10)
Emo-Cult (10)
Emo-Cult (10)

Goth-Wing (Wraiths - 3)
Goth-Wing (3)
Goth-Wing (3)

Emo-Asylum (Monolith)

For a total of just under 2500pts.

Imagine that a Tombworld has recently been virus bombed... not by an organic virus, but by a technovirus. Unknown was the presence of the Necron tomb, though the local galaxy would soon come to know just what happens when Necrons wake up to simply feel that the Universe has left them behind, unwanted, unloved, and completely misunderstood. Why do none of the other races care for the Necrons? Are they malformed or just simply unworthy? All they want is a friend, or maybe even a little hug. Cant they just get a little love and understanding?

So, what do YOU think happens with a Necron Warrior suffers from a viral infection that reprograms the social aspects of its nature? Well, one idea, the theme for this army, is that out of a need for intimate contact, the Necron will attempt to close in as quickly as possible to any and all life forms in an effort to feel that needed 'something' that is missing in its life. Of course, the life form that sees the Necron headed its way in a mad rush will likely fire first and hug later.

The goal of the army is to somehow make for a combat oriented Necron army. All the units are designed to get stuck in and keep getting stuck in. No Destroyers, Heavy Destroyers or even Immortals or Swarms. The Monolith is only their for larger games. The basic 2250 list (the size normally played in my area) has only infantry and 93 models, meaning that a full 70 Necrons must die/fail WBB before the army will phase out. Not too bad, but risky for an army that performs better from the other side of the table. I've played a few games using this list and against all but dedicated CC armies, it does well. I got my arse handed to me verses Space Wolves 13th Company and also by an Ork Speed Freak 'Horde'. Lotsa fun.

I have no suggestions but the idea and fluff is great LMAO!!! I cant wait tosee these guys,the whole idea is very cool!

The Givens: ((will not be changed, no matter how excellent your comments are))

No metallic paints anywhere on any of the models.
No green rod (or any rod) anywhere on any of the models.
Goth Face-paint and Teardrop Tattoos are the order of the day.
Megaman-styled Gauss Flayers

The Options: ((got a better idea, please, do tell))

Black base-coat w/ purple and blue ceramic armour plates, all very subdued and dark.
Vivid Peach/Pumpkin coloured accents to give some sharp contrasts. These accents will be kept to a bare minimum.
Long Slender Dagger to be protruding from right fore-arm (a-la Robocop)
Both Lords (Foot and Wraith) to be designed/converted with DoW Necron Lord in mind.
Scarabs to represent the 'living metal' aspect of the Monolith. They just may be crawling all over it 'repairing' damaged armour plating. (Time to get the plasticard and dremel going)

The darker golden yellow colour of the below SoB Seraphim I painted a few months ago will be the colour for the details... extreme contrast. Yes or No?

That scheme sounds very interesting, i can def see it looking good on them, the darker golden yellow will look good. I really like the idea of the scarabs crawling all over the lord, i have always wanted to try that, just wasnt sure about what to use as the scarabs, the GW ones are to big. Cant wait to see what you have in mind.

I'm currently working on the first 40 Warriors (the last 12 have not yet arrived), and then I'll begin work on the two Lords and the 'Lith.

After putting together an entire 98model TK army over the past few nights, and now the Emo-Necs, I'm surprised I've drawn as little blood as I have, lol. My thumb hurts.

I'll get pics up as soon as I have a squad fully completed. Then painting will begin.
