| Extremis Diabolus ![]() ![]() | No. You need at least five times that many. Holy mongoly! That's a lot of the shiny boyz! However, since you have more than two troop choices, the non-cumpulsory ones are going to have to emerge from a Monolith portal! It in the reserves rule in the warrior entry. So all you have to do is fit a monolith in there and you're set! You might evn want 2 because if one get destroyed, then the rest of the troops can't come in! Looks like a powerful list!

| I thought that was only if there was a monolith in the game, otherwise they just came on as reserves? Damn! For 2 monoliths, I have to drop 26 warriors, meaning rather than needing to kill 73 necrons, they only have to kill 54! Drat! Killing 54 necrons is easy! Haha. Ooo... I know what I can do. Drop one of those units of 20 warriors, and pick up two squads of 10 Flayed Ones.

| Extremis Diabolus ![]() ![]() | Yeah, sorry. Need a Monolith. Yeah, Flayed Ones would be good counter-assault units.

| Primer ![]() | Doesnt it state "They MAY start in reserves"? Other than that, I think you list is fairly solid but you will really struggle against heavy armies like Iron Warriors or IG tank armies EDIT: I chekd my codex and it definitely says MAY begin the game in reserves Last edited by Tomo; 11-20-2006 at 10:26 PM. |

| Thanks Tomo. And with that many Gauss shots... let's work out averages. 95 shots. 63.33333 hit. 10.55555 of these will be 6's on the Armour Penetration roll meaning at least 1 tank per turn will die. With so many Gauss shots, vehicles will fall. Plus, they'd struggle to get 73 necrons killed. Especially if I keep my lords in check of the units like thus: 20 - lord - 20 - 15 - 20 - lord - 20 The 15 man unit would be vulnerable to all the rubbish associated with WBB, but the other two units I could keep mostly in check of the Res. Orb.

| Extremis Diabolus ![]() ![]() | timjonesiddqd, your army looks good, but please don't get off topic! We're discussing MarksmanCypher's Necrons here. If you would like advice on your army, please post a new thread. Huh, may begin in reserve, eh? I completely missed that... I'll have to read it again... Well, you might want a Monolith anyway, just to move around faster... You could also give one Lord a Veil of Darkness. Because you do need a bit more mobility, methinks. Well, as long as those ressurection orbs are going, a Defiler or Basilisk is no problem. Now, if either Lord is destroyed, Tomo's right: you will be in for it.

| i agree... as nasty as a pure warrior army supported by 2 res orbs is, adding in a monolith simply borders on 'broken' status! those re-rolls on your WBB rolls will infuriate pretty much any opponet and if you want to be really evil, throw a viel of darkness onto one lord and then you can simply zip around the board zapping any hidden artillery!'nothing is beyond death's dark gaze!' so to say... hmmmm... i think i'll stop giving you ideas now before the 'necrons are bad dairy' hate mail starts flying!lol. cheers!
