| Conscript ![]() | you mean what people think about the steampunkification of the empire? i know a lot of people who hate things like the steam horse, the clockwork cherubim and the rocket artillery thing. I cant say im a big fan of the rocket thing, though the clockwork horse, cherubim as well as the artwork depicting a travelling automata menagerie in carnival-style is very interesting. and warhammer is considered steampunk anyway, and advancing the technology base of the empire cant really be an entirely bad thing. can it? as regards the army book itself, most of what ive seen seems sound, rules wise and models - im still unsure about the new state troops. the moor-influenced banner is going straight in my marine army and the outriders look nice too. ive seen versions of the army box with state troops and one without. i think the one without is an old one and after poor fan reaction GWdecided to include the state troops for 'free'? not sure |

| Yeah the empire seems to be going through an industrial revolution, they even have printing machines!(the blasphemy) The new outriders are great models, repeater hanguns with bs4! Only -1 negative modifier for multiple shots! Even if you fire 3 times. |

| Conscript ![]() | i like pidgeon bombs, since they fit in with the pseudo-reinasance feel that their technology has, which is based on real military research of italy in the late 16th century. I also like the steamtank and the idea of the steamhorse, but the model just sucks imho. and the rocket artillery weapon is just a step too far i think |

| True the introduction of rocket based weaponry might be pushing it a bit, i mean its not 40k, keep it real GW! Well as real as a fantasy universe... I love the new empire general plastic kit, especially the battle standard bearer with the grim reaper standard. |

| well, overall i like the look of the new empire - it's a very tasty cross between renaisance and high-steam tech style look... the new heroes kit is jaw-dropingly good! i'm hoping they'll be some new wizard sculps too, but i doubt it sadly... the only thing i'm not too crazy about is the new-look state troops. they look like they're leaning a little too far forwards, plus those feathers are fething HUGE!!! i'll still be getting enough for a spearman unit though, as i really hate the current 1-piece models a heck of alot more! i haven't yet had a chance to see/hear any of the rules changes, but i'm hopefull that i can still pull off my themed army of a powerful amethyst wizard's personal household guard (inlucding converted knights of morr!)cheers!

| Hm i glanced through the army book hobby section and the only new wizard model is the army deal one. But as the whole empire range is being re-released im sure we'll be seeing new wizard models by summer. |

| Conscript ![]() | DAMN YOU!!! show the sprues NOW!!! ahem..., on another note, the chinese were using rockets in warface as far back as 1200. i think what the problem is with the empire rocket is that it doesnt look like its from the reneissance, and it doesnt look like a prototype or experimental weapon - it looks like a decades old tried-and-tested thing, which just isnt right. the clockwork horse again, is a cool idea, but i think the model just looks like a horse in full plate armour (with pistons!!!! now those are out of place). itsa cool idea, like the clockwork cherubim, but just not executed well enough as models. |

| Yeah the swordsmen have ws4 and i4 and theyre only 6pts, 1 point more expensive than the spearmen and halberdiers, the new outrider sprue is awesome, apparently its a revolutionary thing since its a triple sprue(pistoliers and outriders) or something along those lines, the local gw manager here was very excited about it. |
