| The Witchhunter ![]() | Well it looks like I have finally convinced mart to give us a game of fantasy and so since he has never played it and his knowledge is limited, I have written two lists for two of the armies I already have: Empire and Vampire Counts. He will get to choose which to use once the lists have been refined, just to show that I am not trying to get any sort of edge. The Vampire list will be put on the relevant board later, but for now the Empire! I do have at least 1 (unit) of almost every choice in the army book, except for Hellstorm, steam tanks and flagellants, but the following comprises of what I have already assembled, so although I would prefer to use variations on what is below, I can if necessary switch things around. And so to the list! 1 Captain w/ full plate, shield 60 24 Swordsmen w/ full command 169 12 Handgunners (detachment) 96 12 Free Company (detachment) 96 25 Spearmen w/ shields, full command 175 12 Free Company (detachment) 96 12 Handgunners 96 12 Handgunners 96 6 Pistoliers 108 Mortar 75 Total 995 input would be very much appreciated! it has been some time since i have written a list for fantasy! thanks in advance |

| characters; - lose the shield and make your captain a BSB. especially against undead who can throw magic around like it's going out of fashion & cause fear to boot, having a magic banner such as a war banner or banner of arcane protection is dead handy! - add in a warrior priest w/great weapon, icon of magnus & armour of meteoric iron for your general. hatred is nice and will help tip the balance as again, combat res will be what you need to aim for... units: - if you want to give missile detachments to units, go for 5-6 archers. place them out front as a skirmish screen which will also help block any magic missiles! when the enemy charge, flee! as they're only detachments, the rest of your infantry won't care about them running off! your combatty detachments should be arranged into a 3x3 formation... again, your goal is to simply remove the enemy's ranks & get the +1 flank bonus. empire infantry are good and squishy! you don't typically win combats by killing stuff so aim for maxing out your combat res potential. overall i nice solid infantry force! the addition of a priest will turn those swordsmen into a great fighting unit though thanks to his re-rolls for hatred... the important thing will be getting the charge as undead typically have poor WS, thus you can generally hit on 3's & wound on 4's. cheers!

| The Witchhunter ![]() | Cheers Stitch. as it happens, a friend has been helping me witht he list and certainly some of the things you have mentioned have now made an appearence. this is the revised list: 1 Captain w/ great weapon, full plate, shield 60 1 Wizard (level 1) w/ 2x scrolls 115 24 Swordsmen w/ full command 169 10 Archers (detachment) 80 10 Free Company (detachment) 50 24 Spearmen w/ shields, full command 164 10 Archers (detachment) 80 10 Free Company (detachment) 50 6 Knights w/ musician 146 Mortar 75 Total 993 though given magic defence wise this list wont lose out by switching the wizard to a priest i think i will go with that change also as long as the points don't get messed up too much mind you, the priest cant take the scrolls. |
